How many pubs do we visit on your tours?
All tours include visits to three of Canberra's best and oldest pubs.
How long do we stay at each pub?
At our first two pubs, we generally stay about 20 mins. At our final pub, you can stay as long as you want!
Is food included on the tour?
There is no food included on the tour.
Are there toilet stops?
We stop at three pubs along the way, so you’ll have plenty of options to duck to the loo.
Is the tour suitable for children?
The tour is not designed for anyone under 18 years of age, as we are attending pubs and drinking alcohol. We suggest you leave the kids at home and have a really great afternoon!
How much walking is there?
This tour covers just under 3km in 3 hours. There are opportunities to sit and catch the shade here and there along the route. Participants will be asked to traverse some uneven sidewalks.
Why Kingston and Barton?
This area is one of Canberra’s oldest precincts. As you'll discover on the tour, over the years, it has been home to a colourful array of characters.
Why an afternoon tour?
This tour operates mid-to-late afternoon because we believe that a good day out shouldn’t equal a bad night’s sleep! The timing also makes this an excellent pre-dinner activity. If you’re making dinner reservations, we recommend no sooner than 7pm, so you have time to enjoy your final drink fully.
Where does the tour end?
This tour ends at the Kingston Hotel. If you'd like us to make a dinner reservation for you – just let us know when you book.
What about the weather?
Our tours (like the show) must go on! We run tours rain or shine. Bring your umbrella, grab your poncho and get ready to have fun. We’ve never let a little rain stop us. And if you don't have an umbrella – don't worry, we always carry a few spares. Please wear clothes that are warm and dry if rain is forecasted. In extreme weather conditions, we may need to cancel the tour when safety is a concern. If weather creates a safety concern, either before or during the experience, we may either cancel or reschedule the experience/tour. If this happens, you will be fully refunded.
What is the refunds and rescheduling policy?
We understand that sometimes bookings need to change. Your booking with She Shapes History is flexible and secure – we know first-hand how important flexibility is to planning a stress-free holiday. We charge zero fees for eligible cancellations and offer unlimited free changes to your booking. We want you to have a great experience, and will always do our best to reschedule you for another tour or provide options wherever possible. For a full refund, cancel at least 7 days before the experience is scheduled to start. You can reschedule the date or time of your experience (or add guests) within 24 hours of booking, and up to 72 hours before the experience is scheduled to start. If you reschedule an experience, the cancellation policy is based on the original purchase time and the original start date of the experience.
What if I'm running late?
Our tours depart at the scheduled tour start time. If you show up late or don't show up at all, we won't be able to offer a refund. For most tours, it is not logistically possible to join the group after it has started.
